Elderly Parent POA Notary
Getting a parent’s power of attorney signed is stressful enough. We handle the notarization with patience and respect, wherever your mom or dad is.
Need elderly parent poa notary in Cincinnati, Dayton, or Northern Kentucky?
If you are reading this, you are probably coordinating care for a parent while juggling siblings, doctors, and paperwork. The POA is the document that lets you actually help — pay bills, talk to banks, make decisions — and it has to be executed while your parent can still understand and agree to it. NotaryCincy works with families across Cincinnati, Dayton, and Northern Kentucky on exactly these signings.
We are direct about the hard part: your parent must understand the document and willingly sign it at the time of the appointment. The notary will talk with your parent one-on-one to confirm this — not to create obstacles, but because that conversation is what protects the POA from being challenged later. If capacity is uncertain, sooner is almost always better than later, and an attorney should guide the timing.
How this service works
-
Get the document prepared first
An elder law or estate attorney prepares the POA naming you or another agent. We notarize; we cannot draft.
-
Tell us about your parent’s situation
Call or text (513) 437-1915 — location, alertness, ID status, and any timing pressure from health events.
-
We plan the visit for success
Best time of day, witness lineup, and ID check — all confirmed before anyone is sitting at the table.
-
A patient signing with your parent
The notary speaks with your parent directly, confirms understanding and willingness, and completes the execution.

Elderly Parent POA Notary FAQs
Mom has good days and bad days. How do we handle that?
Schedule for her best time of day — often mid-morning — and tell us about the pattern. If she cannot demonstrate understanding during the visit, we cannot complete the notarization that day, and we will say so kindly and directly.
Can I sign for my parent if they are too weak to hold a pen?
No one signs for another person under a normal POA execution. Some states allow signature-by-direction procedures in limited cases — ask the attorney who prepared the document whether that applies.
Do all the siblings need to be there?
Only the signer (your parent) and required witnesses must attend. Family presence can be comforting, but the notary will still confirm your parent’s wishes one-on-one.
How soon should we do this?
As soon as the document is ready. Capacity questions only get harder with time. When the attorney says the document is prepared, call or text (513) 437-1915 and we will find the earliest workable visit.
